Rachel Simmons, APRN, PhD, DNP, WHNP-BC, ANP-BC, IBCLC, MSN, is board certified in Women’s Health and Adult Practice. Rachel graduated cum laude with an undergraduate in Sociology and a Masters of Nursing (MN) degree from the College of Mount St. Joseph. Later, Rachel obtained a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN), specializing in Women’s Health, with a subsequent post master’s degree specializing in Adult Medicine (18+). Rachel strongly believes that patient outcomes can be improved through provider education, and has answered the Institute of Medicine’s call for APRNs to be educated at the terminal levels in order to practice and teach at the highest scopes. As such, Rachel obtained a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and is a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduate. Rachel envisions blending research, teaching, and practice and is dedicated to reducing health disparities. Rachel has been nationally published in a nursing book and is a current member of an editorial review team that provides services for the National Medical Library Association.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys sports, teaching, and traveling with family.
